Apparently with the success GTA V brought to Rockstar they decided to make a movie based on GTA V, previous at Rockstar they denied any desire to make a movie based on any GTA title but that seems to have changed. others (Fans of gta)prefer getting GTA 6 first then the movie can follow
Where do you stand? Are you excited about the movie or screw the movie give me GTA 6 ..I'm on the latter

I've heard that as well but then why don't we get a trailer or any sort of announcement released

For what exactly? GTA 6 is still like 3 years away. Even though Rockstar rotates between two games they're a slow developer like Blizzard.

Obviously I'd prefer a game, but a movie wouldn't be bad. It's not like we can't have both

I remember there was a movie about rockstar that starred daniel radcliffe (harry potter lmao) but it wasn't a gta movie. I also remember a commercial i saw like 15 years ago that was a parody of gta.

True but the issue isn't with having both it's the fact that it seems like the focus has shifted from releasing GTA 6 to having the movie done

You really think so? I would think they would just dump the ip onto netflix and let them do it rather than make it inhouse

Can't remember the name but one of the execs said but it was a long time ago that a movie was something they had been approached for and declined off of the fact that things weren't handled properly with other similar ventures and they would probably go for a series instead but the input was one of the issues having the "movie" done right so I think they would want to have some leadership in the making of it
