It should be expected that this game would be unpopular with the majority of the gaming community. It's hard to get used to, the game demands a godly reaction time tied with dead-accurate mouse skills. The special abilities are also pretty trash. Most of the abilities are not meant to be used in combos with other character's abilities. The esports scene is also pretty boring too, impossible to watch the entire thing when all that happens is people shooting guns at a very slow pace. The content creators are also having a hard time making fun content for the game since the most hype moments of the game is when you aim well, which is what happens in every other game. When you compare the content (YouTube, Twitch, etc) from Valorant's launch to Fortnite's launch, there's a clear difference in the possibilities of the in-game mechanics that serve as a creative building block for peaking interest in viewers, aka, the fans. It's pretty clear that the game's tailored towards people who are highly competitive, which is the minority of the gaming community (think of all the people who play fishing games lol)
